St. Cloud Area

St. Cloud is a vibrant and growing community, with affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, excellent public and private schools, top-quality health care, and easy access to parks, lakes, recreation, and cultural activities.

St. Cloud itself has a population of 65,000 and with its contiguous communities of Waite Park, Sartell, St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids, St. Joseph, and St. Augusta, it tops over 100,000, but you can still find a small-town feeling when you settle into many of the neighborhoods of these communities.

Quality of life in the area is high, with St. Cloud’s cost of living index consistently lower than other cities of comparable size in the upper midwest. The varied range of cultural, social and recreational events available provide residents with entertainment and fun year-round.

Education is a priority in St. Cloud with area high schools ranking among the best in the nation. Area high school graduation rates are five percent above the state average, with SAT scores in the top 20 percent. The region is also home to a variety of high education facilities – both public and private – including the largest state university in Minnesota.

A thriving arts community and an array of local festivals and cultural events abound in the area. Theater groups provide a changing schedule of entertainment, art galleries showcase local artists, and area schools welcome visiting artists-in-residence.
