Jerry Von Korff receives McKinley award from Minnesota Education Equity Partnership Jerry Von Korff, Attorney On January 23, 2026, Jerry Von Korff received a McKinley award from Minnesota Education Equity Partnership (MnEEP). Each year, MnEEP identifies and confers Ron McKinley, Equity in Action Awards to “true warriors for racial justice and education equity who work to impact systems, structures, and cultures to undo systemic racism and colonial settler harm in education.” MnEEP is Minnesota’s pre-eminent advocate for the education of English learners, students of color and Indigenous students. During the last several years, Jerry has joined MnEEP’s network of advocates and supporters in their efforts to transform Minnesota’s public education system so that it delivers an adequate education to students of color, lower income students and English language learners. Jerry’s focus has been on assuring that Minnesota will at long last comply with the Minnesota Supreme Court’s 1993 holding that the constitution demands that the legislature provide school districts with enough funding to afford each student an adequate education that meets all state standards, and that the funding is used accountably consistent with effective practices.
